Omega Oversized Art Deco rectangular Tank - 40 microns gold Rare Completely Original

For sale from my personal collection is an exceptionally rare Omega Art Deco rectangular Tank Oversize 40 microns gold plated watch. This particular Omega Tank is one of the rarest known, as confirmed by an Omega expert who informed me that this watch was created as a test for the Gold version released in 1930. Only a handful were produced with "Boite" & "40 Microns" and the larger vintage Omega case back logo signing. This version was produced in 1929, with the movement serial number starting with 73**, and the case back starting with 81*, dating this particular watch to 1939. Remember, this is not the standard Gold, Silver, or Steel case; this is the Oversized Plated version. The dial is completely original and has never been redone or corrected in any way in its 96 years, with the "Swiss Made" still intact and clearly visible. Yes, this is a Radium Dial and Hands.

Adding to its uniqueness, this is the only Oversize Tank with original "Cathedral Hands" in their original state, which have not cracked or broken off. The hands are also blue in color with years of fading, adding to the age-related patina. Honestly, the hands and dial are in amazing untouched condition, surviving WWII and looking great. The original owner passed away in 1990, but the watch remained in the family until I acquired it in 2005 and have kept it ever since.

The movement was last serviced in 2024 by my professional watchmaker (Wostep, Rolex Master Watchmaker, and Omega watchmaker from 1998-2019), who takes care of all my watches. The movement keeps perfect time and is serviced every few years. The case has never been polished and remains in fantastic condition with minor marks visible in the images.
